Hope on the Tide
Hope on the Tide is a bespoke, handcrafted painting inspired by the cliffs in view at Hope Cove Harbour. Featuring Harbour Beach in Inner Hope—the largest sandy inlet in Hope Cove—this artwork captures the serene beauty and natural charm of the area. The piece also highlights the breathtaking views of the rolling cliffs of Bolt Tail, bringing a sense of Devon’s rugged coastline into your home. Created with care and creativity in Kingsbridge, South Devon, it reflects the unique landscape that defines the region. Perfect for those who appreciate bespoke coastal art, this painting is a true celebration of Devon’s stunning seascapes.
Titanium white has the pigment from the chemical compound Titanium dioxide. Not only is this used in paint, it is also commonly found in sun cream and toothpaste. It has success in these roles due to its high refractive index, stability and how it interacts with both visible light, and Ultra Violet light.
Titanium dioxide is more than a base layer or mixing paint; it's vital to all of Niall's art, integral to almost every brushstroke on the canvas. Similar in a way to his view of science, without its underpinning presence, I question what could exist. It creates contrast, depth, and light; and is integral to his work.
